Laania is a leading Finnish wood procurement and forestry services company, serving energy producers, sawmills and forest industry customers across Finland and the broader Baltic Sea region.

Founded on July 1, 2022, Laania was created through the strategic merger of L&T Biowatti Oy and Neova Oy’s bioenergy wood supply operations, combining decades of expertise in responsible wood sourcing and forestry logistics.

Who we are?

Laania is a significant bioenergy and wood-based raw material supplier with a nationwide procurement and sales network covering almost all of Finland.

We also operate a wide terminal network and diverse sourcing channels for wood-based raw materials, including forest owner supplies, residuals from industrial partners and recycled wood streams.

Laania operates in Estonia through its subsidiary Laania Estonia OÜ, expanding its reach in the Baltic Sea market. 

In 2024, Laania reported ambitious annual volumes, with procurement in excess of 2.3 million cubic meters of wood, supported by 80 terminals and 19 regional offices throughout the country.

Laania supplies a broad range of wood-based raw materials for industrial use, including:

  • Wood fuels/wood chips for bioenergy and CHP plants
  • Log assortments suitable for sawmills
  • Wood for pulp & fiber production


Specialty wood products and logistics solutions at competitive terms such as FOB and CIF for export markets within the Baltic Sea region.

We purchase wood through both standing timber and delivered timber tailored to customer needs.

Our supply chain logistics ensures reliable deliveries from forests to your facility or terminal, whether by truck or boat for export, via ports in Finland or Baltics.

Our forest management practices follow PEFC certification criteria, demonstrating our commitment to responsible and traceable timber sourcing. Laania Oy holds PEFC Chain of Custody and Controlled Wood certification, which guarantees that wood supplied through our channels meets internationally recognised standards for sustainability. 

Laania Estonia OÜ holds FSC and SBP certificates.

Laania actively promotes best-practice forestry, preserving biodiversity and minimizing environmental impact in harvesting activities. Our forestry approach emphasises mixed species retention, maintenance of deadwood, protective buffer zones and thoughtful planning to reduce soil compression and stand damage.
